On Sunday, personal issues kept Jimmy Butler away from the team.
"Jimmy Butler has been granted a leave of absence as he deals with the death of a family member, Jimmy and his family ask for privacy at this point in time as they navigate this loss. Updates will be given when appropriate."
The announcement came from the Heat, conveyed by Jimmy Butler's representative, Bernie Lee.
Butler's conspicuous absence from the team's training sessions on both Friday and Saturday has cast doubt on his availability for the forthcoming six-game away stretch. With developments still emerging, his involvement in the near future games is yet to be determined.
Over the course of the 37 games he has initiated this season, Butler has reliably demonstrated his skill, with averages of 21.4 points, 4.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.
